Vinyasa Flow
Breath, Meditation & YOGA
Owned by Carina (Karina Hubert), a writer and a certified yoga instructor with years of experience, Carina Flow Yoga is a warm and friendly studio which provides the Geneva yoga community with a variety of special workshops, yoga events and one-off classes. The classes are bilingual and for all levels, from beginners to advanced students. Classes vary from basic yoga to vinyasa yoga, yin yoga, restorative yoga, acro yoga, partner yoga, charity yoga and a lot more that you won’t find elsewhere.
What to Expect
Vinyasa allows for a lot of variety, but will almost always include sun salutations. Expect to move from pose to pose. Whether the class is fast or slow, includes advanced poses, or is alignment-oriented will depend on the individual teacher and the particular style in which he or she is trained. Some classes include warm-up stretches while others launch straight into standing poses.
Schedule:
Classes are offered every day, from Monday to Sunday (schedule varies depending on the day of the week; usually the first class starts at 8:30 a.m. and the last class finishes at 8:30 p.m.)
Online class sign-up available.
Covid-19
First and foremost, I hope you and your families are staying safe and healthy. I also hope you’ve been staying fit with my ‘Vinyasa at Home’ online yoga sessions. As you know, you can still join me daily. As we navigate through this time, my #1 priority has always been the wellbeing of both our community. With that said, I will only open my studio doors when I feel the utmost confidence in my procedures and precautions, to ensure that everyone is safe. I am staying up to data with all local regulations to make informed decisions and will update you.
Please note that the below are our initial plans. Things change and evolve, day by day, region by region. More information on classes and our procedures will be decided and communicated as we continue to evaluate the circumstances on a daily basis.

Yoga Class Types
VINYASA FLOW
Movement and Breath
A dynamic practice leading you through a creative series of postures that balance strength and flexibility. We maintain focus on alignment and awareness of the breath empowering you to feel like a Zen Yogi.
In vinyasa yoga, each movement is synchronized to a breath. The breath is given primacy, acting as an anchor as you move from one pose to the next. A cat-cow stretch is an example of a very simple vinyasa. The spine is arched on an inhale and rounded on an exhale. A sun salutation sequence is a more complex vinyasa. Each movement in the series is cued by an inhalation or an exhalation of the breath.
VINYASA SLOW FLOW
A vinyasa flow slowed down so you can enjoy each mindful movement. We will lead you through a creative sequence of postures that balance strength and flexibility while maintaining focus on alignment and awareness of the breath.
Postures are generally held for longer periods and the transitions are a little slower. Suitable for beginners, intermediate and advanced students who feel like slowing it down and sinking deeper into their practice.
YIN YOGA
This therapeutic practice focuses on softening and surrendering to gravity. Floor postures are held for longer periods of time allowing a deeper opening of the body. Yin Yoga is a great practice for all levels and is complementary to the more dynamic yoga styles. It’s the perfect class to de-stress and nurture your body, mind and soul.

Vinyasa is a breath initiated practice, that connects every action of our life with the intention of moving towards what is sacred, or most important to us. Suitable for all levels of experience, strength and flexibility as variations and modifications of the poses are offered in every class.
In our flow yoga class, you will learn according to your brain. You will learn proper alignment and do efficiently on your yoga mat.
Yoga can help you get fit for life. It helps you deal with stress.
Many people think yoga is part of a religion- particularly Hinduism. It is not a part of any religion. It is more a science through which we can restore the balance of our emotional well being and of course, our fitness. Through regular practice, you'll begin to notice subtle transformations in how you feel.
Flexibility is one of the first and most obvious benefits of yoga. During your first class, you probably won't be able to touch your toes, never mind do a backbend. But no worries, you will progress quickly.
Yoga means union. It is a state of being in the present, focusing on the here and now.
Yoga is a path to self discovery, fine-tuned awareness, and unification of the mind, body and soul. Yes, it is a series of postures that makes you sweat and burn calories.
Vinyasa flow yoga focuses on alignment. It is fluid and dancelike. We use props like wooden blocks, straps, chairs, bolsters, and blankets to help you achieve and hold postures you otherwise couldn't hold.
Yoga is not competitive or goal-oriented. Even when you're in a class full of people, it remains a personal practice. It is a time for you to go inward, staying with your breath, and move through the flow of postures, going only as far as feels good for you.
Yoga is wonderful to work out, lose weight and tone up, but it is so much more than a great workout.
